BROTHERS OF BRASS EPK

BIO

The Brothers of Brass has its roots in the chance meeting and collaboration of two street performers on The 16th Street Mall in Denver, Colorado. One day in April of 2015 when Khalil Simon and Armando Lopez both set out busk with their street acts Armando heard Khalil’s tuba from down the street and approached him hoping to add some much needed bass to his sound. They ended up playing together and collaborated whenever Khalil and the Brothers of Brass were in Denver over the next year and a half. Khalil eventually moved to Denver and since then Brothers of Brass have grown to be a full sized brass band. Over the past few years the band has cultivated a reputation as one of the premier busking actings in the country by following around large jam bands and igniting raging impromptu dance parties on streets and parking lots from coast to coast. Before the pandemic Brothers of Brass had been playing some of the finest stages in Denver including: The Bluebird Theatre, The Gothic Theatre, and Red Rocks! During quarantine Brothers of Brass has been producing and writing tons of new music, and as soon as it become safe to do so they aim to take their sound to venues and festivals across the country! With influences ranging from R&B to southern brass and psychedelic jam rock to trap hip hop, Brothers of Brass boasts a wide musical lexicon with a little something for everyone!
